5 FACTS – How SureCav helps the environment.

• SureCav is made from 100% recycled polypropylene, having a CO2 footprint 6 times lower than the concrete-block backing-wall it replaces.
   
• SureCav saves energy on the excavation, washing and transportation of aggregates and also saves on the manufacture of cement. Without the need for a backing-block, foundations become narrower. This results in a saving on the excavation and disposal of material, and a further saving on the concrete volume used in the foundations.
   
• SureCav is 100 x lighter than concrete blocks. For a typical three-bedroom house, this equates to removing the need for a 20- tonne concrete block delivery. Instead, the entire SureCav system can be delivered on a single pallet weighing around 350 kg – resulting in a massive saving of transport costs, fuel and road use. SureCav is light in weight, being much easier and safer to handle on site than concrete blocks, minimising the risk of injuries to builders.
   
• SureCav25 can help saves energy in heating the home by making room in the cavity for an extra 25mm insulation in a designed 100mm overall cavity. U-Values can thus be reduced as low as 0.18 W/m2K with 75mm of insulation. SureCav25 is the only product available that lets you construct an approved 25mm residual cavity!
   
• SureCav protects the fabric of the building. Guaranteeing absolute integrity of the cavity, SureCav prevents water penetration from wind driven rain. Providing a protected cavity environment that remains free from mortar, Surecav also removes the risk from contaminated wall-ties and the dangers of moisture bridging the cavity, in all exposure zones.
